Kid Discovers Xbox Flaw [T-break Tech (Middle East)]

(T-break Tech (Middle East) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Kristoffer Von Hassel, a 5 year old kid who simply wanted to play his dad’s Xbox One inadvertently discovered a security flaw on Microsoft’s latest console. Like a responsible parent, Von Hassel’s dad placed a password on the console as not let him access it without supervision. Like any other kid, he tried pressing random combinations to guess the password. His first attempt failed, but a verification screen prompted him to enter spaces and suddenly he managed to get inside his father’s account.

Von Hassel’s dad, who also works in the security field, filmed the boy doing the same mechanic to show the exploit and sent it to Microsoft, to which they thanked the boy for discovering the flaw. In return, Microsoft awarded the boy with the title ‘Security Researcher’ and along with that, he was also awarded four free games, a cool $50, and a 12-month subscription to Xbox Live.

Microsoft said in a statement: "We're always listening to our customers and thank them for bringing issues to our attention. We take security seriously at Xbox and fixed the issue as soon as we learned about it." The post Kid Discovers Xbox Flaw appeared first on tbreak.
