WIT Software launches RCS End-to-End Solution

Feb 27, 2013 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- WIT Software, a leading provider of downloadable RCS Applications, has today announced the launch of its latest RCS Application Server WCAS consolidating its leading market position as a single source for end-to-end RCS solutions. WCAS, combined with WITs existing suite of applications for mobiles, tablets, PC, Web and TV, creates a comprehensive end-to-end RCS platform that enables the fastest possible time-to-market and the maximum service flexibility.

WITs WCAS platform has already been proven in commercial RCS deployments, with roll-outs during 2012 including Presence and Network Address Book, across Android, iPhone, PC, web and Facebook apps. One example is FastWeb (Italy), who launched their Tryllo service based on WITs end-to-end solution, including Android, iPhone, Web and Facebook apps.

The RCS deployments to date have typically included all the key ingredients of RCSe, such as IM, File Transfer, and Content Sharing, as well as capabilities from RCS5 such as IP Voice, Social Presence and Video Calling.

WIT Software is working closely with the GSMA in order to align its product roadmap with RCS/joyn Blackbird and Crane releases. Evolution plans for 2013 include the development of new features such as Store-and-Forward, Auto-Configuration, REST APIs, Push-Notifications, and multi-device access.

WIT Softwares CEO Luis Silva elaborates: "Our end-to-end RCS solution is an essential addition to the market, giving mobile operators a clear advantage by sourcing both the RCS App Server and the RCS apps from a single vendor. They can significantly reduce the time-to-market for a competitive advantage, as well as acheive the agility to deliver incremental and differentiating features over time.

This will deliver a true ability to compete with OTT services. In addition, WIT is committed to support the evolution of RCS, adopting the GSMA accreditation processes to guarantee quality services and interoperability." WITs WCAS App Server is fully compliant with RCS, and will undergo joyn Accreditation when this is made available from the GSMA, WITs fully accredited downloadable joyn apps. These are currently distributed in both Google Play and the Apple App Store for Telefonica and Orange subscribers in Spain.
