(Khaleej Times (United Arab Emirates) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) As part of efforts to fortify its technical capabilities, du, a major player in the UAE's telecommunications space, has announced that it has recently extended its major Managed Collocation services contract with Injazat Data Systems for another three years.

Under the terms of the renewed agreement, Injazat's Abu Dhabi -based Tier IV Data Center – the first commercially-available fault-tolerant Tier IV designed facility of its kind in the region– will continue to support Managed Collocation services for du's mission critical systems. The center will incorporate standards from The Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), a set of IT Service Management practices that aligns IT services with business requirements, to provide reliable, secure, and high-value 24/7 managed IT services.

"We are honored with the opportunity to continue hosting du's mission-critical systems via the Middle East's first Tier IV Data Centre. We will continue to ensure that we have the technology and the expertise to ensure that du's key systems stay online while the company continues to provide vital telecommunications services to its customers. This partnership helps maintain the high standards of excellence in the UAE's telecommunications sector," said Ibrahim Mohamed Lari, CEO, Injazat Data Systems.

"By extending our alliance with Injazat, we will continue to raise the bar for our telecom service levels in the UAE while ensuring business continuity. It re-affirms our commitment to providing world-class services 24/7 services to our nearly six million individual customers and over 50,000 businesses, eliminating service downtime," added Farid Faraidooni, Chief Commercial Officer, du.

Established in 2006, du offers mobile and fixed telephony, broadband connectivity and IPTV services to individuals, homes and businesses. It also provides carrier services for businesses and satellite up/downlink services for TV broadcasters.
