EPD seeks public input from online survey

ENID, Okla., Jan 31, 2013 (Enid News & Eagle - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Enid Police Department is asking residents to participate in an online survey.

Spokesman Capt. Jack Morris said the 14-question survey is completely anonymous and takes a few minutes to complete. The survey covers questions about the department's performance and the types of crime people are most concerned about.

The survey was posted Wednesday afternoon on the department's official website and Facebook page, and had 16 participants in its first day. To take the survey, go to or

The Citizen Satisfaction and Safety Survey will remain online for a few months. The results of the survey will help the department tailor services for the community and address concerns of residents.

"You always look at ways to improve and always look for ways to see how you are doing," Morris said. "We hope those taking the survey are doing so with seriousness. We'd like for as much participation in this survey as possible." Some questions allow for comments, and Morris said all comments will be reviewed and taken into consideration. The survey also may lead to other surveys on specific topics, such as traffic conditions.

"We're just looking for feedback, whether it be good or bad, to see where we are and where we need to be," Chief Brian O'Rourke said. "We'll hear from the vocal minority.
