Upgrade Alert for National Grid (NGG)

Jan 22, 2013 (SmarTrend(R) Upgrades/Downgrades via COMTEX) -- National Grid (NYSE:NGG) was upgraded from Underperform to Outperform at Exane BNP Paribas today. The stock closed yesterday at $54.73 on volume of 511,000 shares, above average daily volume of 469,000. Potential upside of 12.5% exists for National Grid, based on a current level of $54.73 and analysts' average consensus price target of $61.55. National Grid shares should encounter resistance at the 50-day moving average (MA) of $56.32 and support at its 200-day MA of $54.33.

National Grid PLC owns, operates and develops electricity and gas networks. The Group's electricity transmission and gas distribution networks are located throughout the United Kingdom and in the north-eastern section of the United States. They also own liquefied natural gas storage facilities in Britain and provide infrastructure services to the mobile telecom industry.

In the past 52 weeks, National Grid share prices have been bracketed by a low of $47.75 and a high of $58.03 and closed yesterday at $54.73, 15% above that low price. Over the last five market days, the 200-day moving average (MA) has gone up 0.2% while the 50-day MA has declined 0.3%.
