CaptureRx® Sets New 340B Standard

SAN ANTONIO, Jan. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- CaptureRx® presents 340B industry firsts as an accreditation candidate with Electronic Health Record Network Accreditation Commission (EHNAC) and Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC). CaptureRx® is the first and only health data, technology, and 340B administrator company that provides services to the nation's safety-net hospitals and clinics to become a candidate for EHNAC or URAC accreditation.

EHNAC and URAC are two of the four pillars of CaptureRx®' Compliance, Integrity, and Transparency (CIT) Initiatives, which makes CaptureRx® the most compliant, audited and third party- and client peer-reviewed organization in the 340B administration, data, and safety-net pharmacy networks market segment. CaptureRx® will be accredited under the EHNAC Health Network Accreditation Program (HNAP). HNAP accreditation indicates that the company exceeds industry-established standards and complies with HIPAA regulations in areas such as privacy and confidentiality measures, level-of-service and escalation procedures, transaction response times, and systems availability. HNAP assesses security infrastructure and data integrity measures including disaster recovery; business continuity; contingency plans; and intrusion detection and response. The program also evaluates transaction processing efficiency; ability to comply with generally-accepted, industry-standard data formats; and audit trail capabilities.

"As one of the largest providers of 340B drug program pharmacy networks in the country, CaptureRx® once again is setting the bar high for the industry. Through EHNAC and URAC, we are protecting our pharmacy providers, hospital and clinic clients, and their patients, by meeting the most stringent standards," states Edward Gilmartin, CaptureRx®' President and Co-founder.

CaptureRx® seeks Core Standards Accreditation from URAC, a Washington, DC-based health care accrediting organization that establishes quality standards for the health care industry. The Core Standards provide the basic structures and process any organization must have to maintain a level of quality expected in a URAC-accredited organization.

"By choosing to seek URAC Core Standards Accreditation, CaptureRx® has displayed leadership through a commitment to quality and accountability," said Alan P. Spielman, URAC president and CEO.

The Core standards are the foundation of URAC accreditation. These standards address several key organizational functions that are important for any health care organization, including: organizational structure; staff qualifications; training and management; oversight of delegated activities; quality management; and consumer protection.
