Federal OSHA Recognizes Cintas in Aston, PA with Highest Safety Designation

ASTON, Pa. --(Business Wire)--

Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS) today announced that its uniform rental facility in Aston, PA has received Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star certification from the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). VPP is OSHA's highest recognition for the practice of and commitment to exemplary occupational safety and health and "Star" is its highest distinction.

"At OSHA, we will use this location as an example of how businesses can not only meet, but exceed requirements for VPP certification," said Terri Penn, OSHA Region III VPP Manager. "Working hand in hand with a great management team, everyone has found you very enthusiastic in making safety and health a strong component of your culture. You are the best of the best, and today is acelebration of those efforts."

Only 165 sites in the region and 2,374 sites in the U.S. have received "Star" recognition from federal OSHA. The facility in Aston becomes the 8th Cintas uniform rental operation, the 12th company-wide and the 2nd facility under federal OSHA jurisdiction to receive VPP designation.

The Cintas uniform rental facility in Aston first began the VPP process two years ago. The designation required monthly, rigorous audits and the close collaboration between management and employee-partners to achieve full engagement to continuous safety improvement. Approximately 140 people are employed at the facility.

"Safety is our most important value and when all of us lead with it every day we see the impact that it has on our employee-partners, our customers, and the business," said Jon Baker, General Manager. "I'm humbled to share this honor with our employee-partners today and every day," he added.

Cintas Corporation has approximately 330 facilities throughout the world actively pursuing VPP recognition by OSHA or the equivalent under a similar certifying body. This includes operations in the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom, Mexico and Honduras.
