QAS Updates Address Quality Assurance

QAS, a provider of software for address quality assurance, today announced the release of QuickAddress Pro Web 5.0, the latest version of the company's solution for validating addresses against official U.S. Postal Service and 17 worldwide postal authority records during entry over Internet, browser-based, and thin-client applications.

QuickAddress Web 5.0 enables customers to validate their own addresses while ordering from a company Web site — whether ordering a magazine subscription, your kids' school books, your very own catapult ( ) or even a Badonkadonk (
), among the nearly unlimited products/services available for purchase online.

QuickAddress Pro Web is designed to both reduce the barriers of communication and create a better user experience, in order to improve the performance of companies' Web sites. Claims QAS: "With e-commerce revenue predicted to grow 36 percent [this year], you can't afford for your online forms and checkout processes to let you down."

"Whether it's taken over the Web, via the call center, from postcards, or at the point of purchase, address data is critical to the health of the corporation," said QAS Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Hulford-Funnell in a company statement.

On that note, integrating seamlessly with the implementing business' Web site, via a wide range of data sets — such as consumer names, business, lifestyle and geographic data — QuickAddress Web 5.0 can capture a full and correctly formatted address from minimal information, considering also that the customer may not know such details as ZIP codes or the correct spellings of street names. It can capture international addresses from more than 17 primary data sources. As well, it customizes the format of the address to the preferred data layout, and it "ensures standardized spellings and abbreviations, which helps customers avoid UPS and FedEx correction surcharges."

New in version 5.0 are the following features: automatic address entry, via incorporated drop-down ranges of valid addresses after only a few key strokes for time savings; Intranet- and Extranet-environment validation functionality, designed to ensure the validity of data stored in Web-based applications; and enhanced compatibility and scalability, the Web service now with support for XML, SOAP, J2EE and .NET standards. Integration into Web sites, browser-based applications and thin-client environment, therefore, has been simplified.

Efficient address capture should prevent users from having to repeatedly filling out forms, while ensuring that the information quickly captured is accurate, correctly formatted and can be seamlessly integrated into the business. Users should have confidence that their details are being professionally handled and that deliveries won't go astray.

QAS' product, according to the company, is designed to reassure customers that their orders are being handled professionally and that packages will arrive as scheduled.
